Had to take my eldest daughter to the hospital today for the operation on her thumb, to check how much damage she has done to her muscle and bone. We arrived at 9 am and was booked straight into a private room, and waited for the consultant, who checked her very quickly. The first thing that impressed me was how clean it was and how friendly all the nurses and staff were.
After many visits from different Nurses to check if she was okay, what she wanted for breakfast, checking and redressing the wound, it was time to go down to the operating theatre. She was in the operation for about two hours and a further hour in the recovery suite, before returning to the room.
The operation went well, and hopefully have repaired the muscle, her hand and thumb is in plaster for the next few weeks, and she has now been signed off work for Two Months, until we see the consultant again.
