To mark the 70th anniversary of V.E. Day and the capitulation of Nazi Germany, commemorative events are planned in Chateaubriant Friday, 8 May 2015.
For the first time, the V.E. Day ceremony is being organized by the ‘Associations des Anciens Combattants’ and ‘Patriotiques de Châteaubriant Association’, with the help of the Technical Services department of the Chateaubriant council.
Program: Friday, May 8th at 10.50am, a gathering of the flag bearers at the monument aux morts; at 11 am there will be the coming together and wreath laying by VIPs and delegations of veterans; at 11.10am, there will be a ceremony at the war memorial with drinks afterwards to toast a toast of friendship, at the foyer restaurant.
