The French comedian Didier Pain died at the age of 71. In the credits of great success like “The Glory of my father”, “The Castle of my mother” or “The Visitors”, he was the uncle of Vanessa Paradis which he had helped to launch her career.
It was a second important role of French cinema. Actor and producer Didier Pain passed away on Sunday 10th February in Bangkok, Thailand, the art agency ArtCiné announced in a message posted on its website. He was 71 years old.
In cinema he had shot in about forty films: “Clara and the Chic Types” (1981), “Walk in the shade” (1984), “Jean de Florette” (1986) or “The Glory of my father” and My Mother’s Castle (1990) where he plays Uncle Jules. In 1993, he played Louis VI Le Gros in “The Visitors”.
Didier Pain was also the brother of Corinne, the mother of Vanessa Paradis and his sister Alysson. He was the manager of the “Joe the taxi” interpreter at the beginning, even producing two of his films, “Elisa” (1995) and “A Witch’s Love” (1997).
