Went to the lake at Voireau, just outside Le Melliaye de Bretagne, not far from Chateaubriant.
It’s a large Lake/Reservoir on the edge of a large forest, with a man made beach, a safe swimming area with a lifeguard, although the water is quite shallow a fair way in, and a boating section.
There is plenty of places on the sand to lie back and enjoy the sun, and a small cafe, should you become hungry, thirsty or just fancy an ice cream.
There is a small play area for younger children with a slide and should it get too hot, you can always take a stroll through the forest.
