Tour de France
Warren Barguil won the 18th stage of the Tour de France

CYCLING: The Englishman took a step closer to a fourth victory in the Tour …

If it could be frustrating to see Bardet behind Froome, after the 18th stage of the Tour de France from Briançon to the mountain finish at Izoard, the the last kilometers exploded with Warren Barguil, leader in the king of the mountains classification and the author of a great Tour de France.  The Breton is also ensured to be the winner of the polka dot jersey in Paris for the final on Sunday.

Romain Bardet, and his team AD2R went on the attack on this stage trying to gain an advantage over Chris Froome and the Sky team, but every move by Bardet was covered.  In the final few hundred metres, bardet moved again and finished third in the stage and takes 4 bonus seconds and two seconds more about Uran. Froome finished on his wheel.

So, overall, Romain Bardet takes second place to Uran for a few seconds. The French rider now has six seconds ahead of the Colombian. Fabio Aru exploded and is now almost two minutes of Froome.

Before against the clock on Saturday in Marseille, Romain Bardet is not in a strong position to retain his second place overall. Rigoberto Uran is a much better time trialist and should quickly catch the six seconds down on his French rival.

The arrival of the hero of the day, Warren Barguil, which should finish his tour in the top ten, is not necessarily playing in the general classification.
