Autoroutes: Tolls Will Increase by 0.86%, on Average, in 2026

TRANSPORT: The toll rates on the Autoroutes will increase by an average of 0.86% from the 1st February 2026, an increase below inflation and the lowest since 2021

It’s less than inflation. The tolls on the autoroutes will increase by 0.86% on average from February 1, 2026, according to the Ministry of Transport. The average price change applicable to private vehicles on the network of historic concession companies applies to the seven networks highways licensed in France: APRR, AREA, ASF, Cofiroute, Escota, Sanef, and SAPN.

But it comes as part of the annual review of contracts planned between the State and autoroute concessionaires, and it differs depending on the region, the ministry warned. The “precise price scales” will be “analyzed in the coming weeks, if necessary corrected, then will give rise to validation by ministerial decree”, added the same source.

Stronger increases in 2023 and 2024

This average price increase of the autoroutes, which was submitted on Tuesday to the Committee of Users of the National Road Network, will be “the lowest since 2021” and “lower than inflation excluding tobacco during the reference period concerned (October 2024 to October 2025) which is 0,9%”, underlined the ministry.

In 2025, tolls had increased on average by 0.92%, 3% in 2024 and 4.75% in 2023. For 2026, the Banque de France expects an average increase of 1.3% in consumer prices in France, according to a harmonized index which allows a comparison between European countries
