The US Star, Troy Dean Shafer of the series Nashville Flipped has died aged 38
Nashville Flipped star Troy Dean Shafer died in his sleep aged 38, his family has confirmed. The US star was known for appearing on the television DIY series Nashville Flipped, which follows the restoration of historic houses in Tennessee.
Troy’s brother Tim confirmed his passing, telling TMZ that the star had died in his sleep at his Pennsylvania home on the 28th April. The publication claims that Shafer’s death came as a shock to his family, as he didn’t have any known medical conditions, and a toxicology report will be ‘finalised in the coming weeks’.
His family held a small and private burial for Troy last week. Shafer is survived by his wife Becky Haynes.
Troy had originally moved to Nashville to pursue a singing career, but later found fame on Nashville Flipped – a construction series picked up by the DIY Network over in the States. The television series made its debut in 2016 and has two seasons under its belt.
Addressing Troy’s passing, the DIY Network paid tribute to the presenter in a statement that read: ‘The DIY Network family is sorry to hear about the passing of Troy Dean Shafer.’
