RAIL TRANSPORT: Three unions have called for a strike in solidarity with the railway workers …
That the Parisians reassure themselves, transport should be “almost normal” this Thursday. The traffic of subways, RER, buses and trams of the RATP will be little disturbed by the call to strike launched by three unions, said Tuesday by the Paris transport authority in a statement.
For the part of the RER operated by the RATP, three out of four trains are scheduled on average on both the RER A and the RER B, or “two trains out of three in peak hour and almost normal traffic in off-peak hours,” says the governed. On the RER B, a train change will be necessary at Gare du Nord to access the SNCF area , the statement said.
Three unions (CGT, Unsa and SUD) are calling for a strike in the Paris transport authority (metro, bus, tram, part of the RER A and B), in solidarity with the railway workers, who are organising a national demonstration against the SNCF reform , but also for specific reasons: fear of future privatisation and staffing problems.
