A young man was arrested when he was driving nearly 200 km/h on the A7 in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, with three young children on board. His Audi A3 is out of order and his license has been withdrawn.
A young Ardèche 29-year-old has lost his driving license after being controlled at 198 km/h instead of 130 last Friday, around 10.30pm. He drove on the A7 motorway, near Pont-de-l Isère (Drôme) and towards Marseille, said Sunday Le Dauphiné .
Three children on board
He was intercepted by the gendarmes of the Valence motorway squad. The gendarmes lost sight of the vehicle for a long time because of the thick black smoke that came out of the Audi A3. The engine of the car did not support this peak speed.
The driver continued his journey at 160 km/h to the exit Valence Nord, without causing an accident. The gendarmes then arrested him and found three children on board. The young man will soon be summoned to court
