It is from this Thursday that the Allocation de Rentrée Scolaire (ARS ) or school allowance is paid for this school year 2017. Approximately three million families are to receive this aid which finances the supplies for their children aged 6 to 18 years.
A slightly increased amount
The ARS this year varies between 364 and 397 euros depending on the age of the child. The amount was revalued slightly up to a euro tranche or 0.3% compared to 2016.
It is paid to families whose income does not exceed 24,404 euros (for families with one child), 30 036 euros (two children), 35,668 euros (three children) for each additional child, the ceiling is increased by 5.632 euros. “Unlike previous years, the income ceiling has not been reassessed,” laments from La Croix Johan Jousseaume, head of the education sector of the Confederation of Families.
