One Hectare of Forest on Fire in Saint-Pierre-sur-Orthe

A major forest fire broke out on Wednesday 17th August at Saint-Pierre-sur-Orthe. A section of a forest of one hectare caught fire.
A fire started on Wednesday 17th August at Saint-Pierre-sur-Orthe, at a place called the Aulnays. Dry Underbrush was hit. Firefighters who were quickly on site, took three hours to extinguish the fire.
A still smouldering trunk had to be cut down. A councillor came armed with his chainsaw to cut it down.
The man who accidentally caused the fire, suffered burns. He was taken to hospital at Alençon.
