According to a survey, 69% of French people want an extension of the state of emergency beyond 21 February.
Safety first. Nearly seven in ten French -69% – are in favour of extending the state of emergency beyond the 21st February. This is according to a YouGov poll for theHuffington Post and iTELE released yesterday, Wednesday.
In detail, 29% say it “very favorable”, 39% “fairly good”, 13% “somewhat unfavorable”, 10% “very unfavorable”, and 9% were undecided.
Support evolving age
Support for this extension increases with age (56% for 18-34, 66% 35-54, 77% for 55 years). It prevails regardless of the partisan nearby (54% for the Left Front supporters and the extreme left, 76-81% for the rest of the political spectrum).
Survey conducted on 6th and 7th January on the internet with a sample of 1015 people representative of the French population (quota method).
