With 30 towns without Internet or mobile phone, the region is the second in France that the largest number of white areas. They should be covered end of 2016 …

What is the common point between the small town of high-garonnais Montberaud, with a population of 216, and the even smaller village Clapier, in Aveyron?  It is strictly impossible to receive SMS. We can not surf the Internet, and with extreme difficuly, use there mobile phone.  The two towns are part of the list of 171 new “white areas” published Friday by Bercy.

With 30 unconnected communes in the Midi-Pyrénées region, it is the second in France behind Languedoc-Roussillon, for being the worst off. Haute-Garonne alone has seven white areas: Montberaud therefore, but also Antichan-de-Frontignes, Caubous, Frontignan-de-Comminges, Herran, Payssous and Saint-Pé-d’Ardet.

But this injustice should not last.  Because with this new list drawn up, it is to remedy the problem.  The Ministry of Economy announced that “the four mobile operators will cover the towns centres of these rural communities by the end of 2016”.
