More than 1,500 offences were reported this weekend on the roads of the department. From Friday to Sunday, 672 police and gendarmes have been deployed on 350 checkpoints. Offences as “excessive speed, on the phone while driving, the failure to stop, red light and driving under the influence of alcohol and  drugs” were particularly monitored, according to the police headquarters.

29 driving licenses suspended

There was 878 violations for speeding, 55 related to the non-use of equipment, such as seat belts or helmet, 123 due to unsafe behaviours were observed. In addition, police reported 55 offences for driving under the influence of alcohol and 11 for driving under the influence of narcotics.  Offences relating to alcohol, drugs and speed have led to 29 driving licenses being suspended.
