Bernard Cazeneuve returned to the border control system, introduced after the attacks in Paris, from Strasbourg.  The Interior Minister announced an initial report: 1,000 people were prevented from entering the territory since the return of border controls.  He also announced the closure of two mosques in Lyons and Gennevilliers, according to RTL.

“Allow to strengthen the security of French”

“Since the establishment of border control” with the state of emergency, introduced after the attacks in Paris on November 13, “there are nearly 1,000 people who were prevented from entering the country because of the risk that these individuals might pose to public order and Security in our country, “said the minister during a visit to Strasbourg.  The purpose of these checks is to “allow, as part of both the organization of COP21 but also the very high level of terrorist threat we face, to reinforce security and to make the French arrests that are needed, “the minister added.

More than 1,800 searches

France had restored unusually control of its borders, with the State of Emergency, since Friday, November 13, hours before the attacks, as part of a series of measures to strengthen upstream security of the international conference on climate, COP21, which officially begins Monday in Paris.

Bernard Cazeneuve moved to Strasbourg for the Christmas market, under surveillance. Furthermore, the number of searches conducted by the police since the attacks has exceeded 1,800, 600 more in three days.
