Well just to let you all know how I am getting on with linux, I had given up on the Mini Me of PCLOS, just couldn’t quite get it set up right and gave Mandriva Spring 2008 a go and I am really pleased with it and would certainly recommend it.
But now I have a dilemma, I have just ordered a Laptop of Ebay, and its quite old, PII 233, so it won’t run windows very good so I thought Linux will be the answer, and after a bit of searching have found a distro called Puppy Linux, which is meant to be a lightweight version of Linux and perfectly suited forthe older machines, and as i can’t wait for the laptop to try it out, have wiped the hard Drive and installed Puppy Linux on the Desktop to see how it fairs.
All I can say at the moment is it zips along quite nicely at the moment, I have done some tweaks like adding a Mac type interface and added so more programs to it, and I am really impressed with it.
I will update you later on on how it is all going when i have installed in on the laptop, and then i can make a decision of what i alm putting on the desktop machine.
