After 38 days of racing, Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire) made a extended his lead in the Vendée Globe.  At 9 am on Thursday, Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss) trails by 302 miles from the Frenchman. Behind Paul Meilhat (SMA) completed the podium to 1161 miles

Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire) continues to excel in this years Vendeé Globe, while his nearest rival, Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss) believed to be back in the race earlier this week, sees his position starting to slip , being at last count, 301 miles behind the Frenchman, a gap that continues to rise day by day. 

Behind the sparkling duo for 37 days include Paul Meilhat (SMA) who is currently third at 1161 miles behind the leaders. Beyou (Maître Coq) is 50 miles behind Meihat.

Following, the following trio of boats are a further  1000 miles further composed of Yann Elies (Quéguiner – Leucémie Espoir), Jean Le Cam (Finistere Mer Vent) and Jean-Pierre Dick (St Michel Virbac). At the bottom, it’s always Sébastien Destremau (TechnoFirst – faceOcean) bringing up the rear with 6,846,000 of Le Cléac’h.
