Is Armel Cléac’h going to win the Vendée Globe? The question may arise. While his nearest rival, Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss) believed to be back in the race earlier this week, the skipper of Banque Populaire boat has at the last count a lead of 253 miles over the Welshman.

Behind the sparkling duo for 37 days include Paul Meilhat (SMA) who is currently third, 1396 miles behind the leaders. Beyou (Maître Coq) 4th, is 60 miles behind.

There followed a trio sailing 1000 miles further behind composed of Yann Elies (Quéguiner – Leucémie Espoir) , Jean Le Cam (Finistere Sea Wind) and Jean-Pierre Dick (St Michel Virbac). At the bottom, it’s always Sébastien Destremau (TechnoFirst – faceOcean) bringing up the rear with 6.86 million of Le Cléac’h.
