After “Waka Waka”, Shakira Presents “Dai Dai”, the Anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

A few weeks before the 2026 World Cup, Shakira marks her return with “Dai Dai”, the new official anthem of the World Cup. A teaser revealed on Instagram is already reviving the wait for the title, expected on May 14th
The 2026 World Cup will have the voice of again Shakira as a soundtrack. As indicated Paris Match in an article published on May 8th, the Colombian artist will release “Dai Dai” on the 14th May, presented as the new official anthem of the tournament organized in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
A short extract shared on Instagram already allows us to see images filmed at the Maracanã stadium, at Rio de Janeiro, as well as a preview of the rhythm of the song. The video also announces the return of the choreographies that contributed to the worldwide success of “Waka Waka” in 2010.
Shakira’s third performance
This new collaboration with the FIFA caused a reaction on social networks. Internet users denounce a lack of renewal in the choice of artists responsible for musically embodying the competition. Shakira indeed becomes one of the rare singers to have been associated with three editions of the Mondial.
Since the 1990s, World Cup anthems have been regularly entrusted to international stars such as Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez or Pitbull. French-speaking artists have also made tournament history, notably Vegedream with “Bring Home the Cup” in 2018 and Gims, present on “Arhbo” during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
