Ikea: Batches of Bibs Recalled for Risk of Suffocation

Because of a button that comes off, the batch of two IKea bibs are recalled by the sign.

According to the Swedish brand, the button of this bib could come off. Ikea, therefore, asks its customers to bring the product back to the store.

Ikea is recalling the batch of two MATVRÅ children’s bibs, blue/red for risk of suffocation. The sign has been informed that the button of this bib could come off and therefore asks its customers to stop using this product.

Ikea asks all customers to return the product for a full refund or exchange it for a similar product, ” according to a statement released Monday 30th September 2019

“No proof of purchase (receipt) will be requested.”

The other bibs are not affected

“We learned there was a risk that the button would come off if the child pulled on it,” said Emelie Knoester, Business Area Manager at Ikea in Sweden. She continues:

“Customer safety is a top priority for Ikea. That’s why, as a precaution, we decided to recall the batch of two MATVRÅ children’s bibs, blue / red. The MATVRÅ bibs green / yellow, fruit and vegetable patterns, can be used safely because of the material and the different design. ”
