La Poste has announced that the red stamp will increase from 1.05 to 1.16 euro, and the green stamp, the most used, from 88 to 97 euro cents, from 1st January 2020.
On 1st January 2020, the rates of mail (+ 4.7%) and packages (+ 2%) will further increase at La Poste. “Tariff adjustments”, explains the group in a statement:
“This evolution makes it possible to ensure the durability of the universal service with a high quality in a context of accelerating decline in mail volumes , and to continue to modernize the offers to meet the uses and needs of its customers.”

Specifically, the price of the green stamp will increase from 0.88 euro to 0.97 euro while the priority stamp will increase from 1.05 to 1.16 euro, or a 10% increase. “The green letter, economic and ecological, has become the main reference of individuals for their ordinary shipments,” adds the company.
The priority letter, weighing less than 20 g, is released today with a stamp of 1.05 euro. From 2020, it will be 1.16 euros, an increase of 10.5%.
“To simplify the lives of its customers, La Poste offers its online print stamps service at home, accessible 24 hours a day (MonTimbrenLigne service),” she says.
“Customers will benefit, on this range, a discount of 3 cents from the standard public rate, for red stamps as for green stamps.”
Finally, the price of the International Letter from 0 to 20 grams will be 1.40 euros.
A sticker to follow your mail
Since 2018, private customers can affix a sticker “tracking” on all their mail. This new service provides information on the distribution of mail with this sticker. Its price will now be 0.45 euros, it was so far the price of 0.40 euro.
To send parcels, some changes also
No worries for small parcels. The consumer price of Colissimo France less than 250 grams will remain at the same price as in 2019, or € 4.95. This rate is stable for 3 e consecutive year. Same thing for the Colissimo France less than 250 grams with signature including the recommendation option (unchanged at 7.45 euros).
Overall, the Colissimos’ rates for personal home delivery will still increase by 2% on average.
Companies will also be affected by these developments: “the rates of industrial mail management will evolve by 3.4% and those of direct marketing by 0.3% to encourage the use of Media Mail,” justifies La Poste.
