After the broadcast of the 7th edition of the “Village favorite of the French” on France 2, Tuesday evening, the town of Cassel, located in the region of Hauts-de-France, is the one that won the largest number of votes among the fourteen candidates.
This is the first time, in seven editions, that this coveted title, awarded by Stéphane Bern, goes to the Hauts-de-France, less than ten kilometers from the Belgian border. Until now, he had traveled only in Occitania, in Brittany and in the East.

With its 2,300 inhabitants, Cassel was almost a mastodon in the contest: museum of Flanders, departmental museum of art, mill or college of Jesuits.
