A knife attack occurred this Saturday 12th May 2018 in Paris. Two are dead and several injured according to initial reports
A man attacked passersby with a knife in the Opera district in Paris. According to several media, there would be several serious injuries, according to a provisional balance sheet.
According to sources close to the case cited by AFP, the attack killed two people , including the attacker.
The police headquarters confirmed a heavy balance sheet. Five people were assaulted . One passerby is dead while two are seriously injured and two more slightly.
The perpetrator was controlled by the police and was shot dead, according to the police prefecture.

Collomb evokes an “odious act”
The attack took place in the 2nd arrondissement, near the Opera, in the heart of the capital, in a neighborhood of bars, restaurants and theaters very popular on Saturday night .

The criminal brigade investigators are to investigate, according to judicial sources. The motives of the aggressor were unknown at the moment.
This attack comes as France lives under a constant threat of terrorism. The last deadly attack, on March 23 in Carcassonne and Trèbes (Aude), had brought to 245 the number of victims killed in the attacks on French soil since 2015.
