In testing for the upcoming F1 season, Hamilton finished the morning session fastest

Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) dominated the second test of the morning for the 2017 F1 season on Tuesday, setting the fastest time in four years on the Barcelona circuit.

The triple world champion is the first to go below the 1 min 21 sec (1: 20,983) from pole position for Nico Rosberg in 2013 (1: 20,718).

In Monday’s test session, Mercedes has accumulated the greatest number of laps (66) and ahead of nearly two seconds of the new Ferrari SF70, this time driven by Kimi Raikkonen (47 laps).

Ocon third

The third place returns to Frenchman Esteban Ocon, whose debut with Force India took place at best before locking out on the track just minutes of the lunch break.

Monday as always, the trouble continued for McLaren and Sauber, victims of new engine problems. As for the British driver Jolyon Palmer, he could not perform a warm-up lap at the very end of the session, working on his Renault having occupied the greater part of the morning.
