“Strengthen the feeling of immersion”
The big news is the new controller that will come with the PlayStation 5. “One of our goals is to reinforce the sense of immersion that you feel when you play,” says Jim Ryan, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe.
“With haptic (tactile) feedback, you really feel a greater variety of tactile feedback, so crashing into a wall during a race will produce a feeling very different from that produced by a tackle on a football field. “
The American magazine Wired details other information on this controller , very close to the DualShock4 of the PlayStation 4, but with a more powerful microphone, and especially adaptive triggers “so that you can feel in a tactile way what it’s like a bow and notch an arrow, or to accelerate an all-terrain vehicle in a rocky environment, “says Jim Ryan on the company’s blog.
The PlayStation 5 will also feature enhanced audio device, compatibility with the home virtual reality headset, and will display 8K graphics. And for the owners of a PlayStation 4, do not worry: the new console will be backward compatible with your current games!
