ANIMAL ABUSE: The seal, found injured on a beach in Dunkirk, died at the reception centre of the LPA
He had been discovered, wounded in the head, on the beach of Malo, in Dunkerque, in the North. The young seal, collected by the League of Protection for Animals (LPA) of Calais, died Saturday, announced the Wildlife Care Center, on its Facebook site .
These are walkers who gave the alert last Sunday. The animal was said to have been beaten by a fisherman who is wanted by the police.
Complaint filed
Collected at a centre specializing in wildlife in Calais, the young seal had seen his health deteriorate from Thursday night. “An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact causes of death,” says the LPA.
The association had chosen to partner with Sea Sheperd France to file a complaint against the person suspected of having kicked the animal.
