It is eagerly awaited in many homes. The Prime de Noel, a Christmas bonus will be paid on Friday 14th December, 2018 to “more than 2.3 million French people, ” announced the Ministry of Solidarity and Health this Monday 10th December.

Who is entitled to it?
This exceptional bonus has existed since the end of the 90s. Only beneficiaries of social minima “such as the active solidarity income (RSA), the specific solidarity allowance (SSA) and the retirement equivalent allowance (AER)” are eligible for this Christmas bonus, said the ministry in a statement :
“It reflects the Government’s commitment to fight against poverty and the purchasing power of low-income households, in line with the 2018-2022 national strategy for prevention and the fight against poverty.”

What is the amount ?
The amount of the premium depends on the composition of the beneficiary’s tax household :
- 152,45 euros for a single person,
- 228.67 for two people (couple without children or isolated with a child),
- EUR 274.41 for three people (isolated with two children or couple with a child),
- 320.14 euros for a couple with two children.
- EUR 335.39 for four people (isolated with three children),
- 381.12 euros for a couple with three children,
- EUR 396.37 for five people (isolated with four children),
- EUR 442.10 for a couple with four children,
- 457,35 euros for six people (isolated with five children),
and 60,98 euros per additional person.
The steps to be taken
The recipients of the Christmas bonus have no steps to take. It is automatically paid, depending on the situation, by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Agricultural Social Mutual Fund (CMSA).
