A week after the terrible floods that hit the French Riviera, the South-East of France could experience this Monday a new episode of flooding, according to an Orange alert by Meteo France this Monday morning. The Gard, Vaucluse and Bouches-du-Rhône departments were placed from Monday until Tuesday morning on orange alert for rains and floods. “From rainstorms intensify the Gard during the afternoon and evening earn west of Provence including Bouches-du-Rhône”, says Meteo France.
“Monday afternoon and this evening, thunderstorms will erupt over eastern Gard, the Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse. These storms can be violent accompanied by a strong electrical activity. They may be remarkable with high rainfall intensities (up to 80-100 mm in no time) but also lasting until the night of Monday to Tuesday. Expected totals are 100-150 mm up to 200 mm for the most sustainable storms, “said the organization in its regional bulletin on Monday morning.
If orange alert, it is advisable to check before undertaking a trip, avoid the edges of waterways, and not to engage on foot or by car on a submerged road.
