Just got back from a really good night out in the centre of Chateaubriant (44), where I went to join in the Halloween Activities and where my daughter was dancing in the Flash Mob as her dance group, Extravadanse was taking part in the Flash Mob.
We got there around 5pm, and the town was full of kids all dresssed up in their various costumes visiting all the local town centre businesses, who were kept busy handing out sweets and treats to them all.
In the centre of the town, it was quickly filling up as people also visited the various tents that were set up selling Cakes, doing face-painting and various games, with music playing in the background. There were also a selection of wooden table top games set up, which the children seemed to be really enjoying playing with.
As the time got closer to when the Flash mob was to start, you couldn’t move due to the amount of children who were turning up to participate in the Flash mob, with parents on both sides of the road, cameras in hand ready to take photos and videos of the event.
Before the dancing started, the organizers thanked all that had attended and helped make the evening a success, especially as the proceeds were going towards a family whose two young children, who were there watching are suffering from a rare terminal illness, need to have the house adapted for their special needs and equipment like wheelchairs will soon be needed as they get worse.
Then the music started, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and bit by bit the children all started to dance and move down the street, to clapping and cheering of the watching crowd. When finished, the crowd demanded an encore, so the dance was repeated for a second time with a even bigger applause and cheer second time around.
Afterwards, we were entertained for about 20 minutes by a street entertainer who was a Fire Eater, who obviously extinguished the flames by eating them, juggled with sticks on fire, span lighted chains around and sent flames in all directions. He was very funny and all of us watching applauded his many tricks he performed.
A great night, some photos I have included and will once again upload some video footage over the the next couple of days.
