Most of the Pharmacies are closed today in France as they are on strike, providing just an emergency service, As far as I am aware, they are protesting because supermarkets want to be able to sell some over the counter medicines such as Paracetamol. 
Initially the idea of this sounds good in principle and it is convenient if you are shopping at the same time, but the problem is with this, is it want be long before you start to see Pharmacies starting to close in the villages and on the high street of the towns. This would be disaster for the french way of life in the smaller towns and villages.
I just hope that the Government actually listen for a change instead of always doing what the big corporations want.
