Wednesday 20 April, Charles de Gaulle street, a Carrefour Express will open to the public, instead of a former clothing store.
This Wednesday, April 20 at 8 am, the Carrefour Express of Charles de Gaulle street will open, in what was a former clothing store. The work started on this new store in February. The store fills a gap on the side of the right bank of the Mayenne. “There was a grocery store (at the beginning of the street Sergeant-Louvrier), but it closed late last year, says Marielle Simothé, manager of the new Carrefour Express. We target an older clientele, who can not necessarily move around so easily, people who do not have cars and the people who work in Mayenne, who are still numerous.” She hopes that this will “revitalize the city centre.”
In total, the new store employs four people, including two full-time. On a surface of 160 m², food can be found there, hygiene and cleaning products, as well as a supply of snacks for the lunch time trade, “with sandwiches and salads,” being available for those workers unable to have the time to go home for the lunchtime, says the manager.
Carrefour Express 251, rue Charles de Gaulle. Open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 1pm.
