The Rennes airport opened this Monday 29th October, 2018 a new route to Geneva in Switzerland. Targeted clientele: tourists attracted by skiing and business passengers.
And two! A little more than six months after launching a line to Lyon, the low-cost British airline easyJet is repeating. On Monday 29th October 2018, Rennes airport welcomed the first passengers of a new route from Geneva, Switzerland.
This first inaugural flight – complete both inbound and outbound – launches this link which will offer three flights per week until March 24, 2019 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Rates start at 35 euros. The flight takes 1 hour and 5 minutes.
With this new deployment, “the airport of Rennes enters the big leagues”, welcomes Gilles Tellier, director of Rennes Dinard Bretagne airports .

Cap on the million
EasyJet currently has six bases in France. The seventh is expected in Nantes.
Present at 20 French airports, the company provides 250 connections and carries 20 million passengers a year (90 million worldwide). In Rennes, the airport will have seen nearly 850,000 passengers in 2018. The goal is to cross the threshold of one million passengers next year.
“We are recording 250% growth in one year,” says Reginald Otten, easyJet’s deputy France director .
The company is already studying other destinations for next year from Rennes.
An additional flight to Lyon
Launched in March 2018, Rennes / Lyon is expected to post a total of 60,000 passengers carried this year, including 19% of business travellers. With a fill rate of 92%, the line is a success, according to its promoters.
An additional flight must be in place for this summer on Thursday at 13:45. Rennes will then offer five rotations a week to Lyon.
Waiting for the bus
The station is ready. We only wait for buses! In the spring, line C6 will replace line 57 which currently serves Rennes airport (but stops 300m from the terminal …), with a ten minute pace to reach the city center (20 minutes journey) ).
The schedule should “marry” morning and late flights from the airport.
“There will always be a bus in front of the terminal,” explains Gilles Tellier. “We are currently testing with electric articulated buses”.
