This is a first in the Cantal: the first fast charging station for electric vehicles is in service on the side of Vic-sur-Cère.
The commune of Vic-sur-Cère has voluntarily signed up to a sustainable mobility approach, reducing energy consumption and preserving biodiversity. For this, it responded to the call for project “Territory with Positive Energy Green Growth” carried by the Volcanoes Park of Auvergne. In fact, this sustainable mobility component resulted in the acquisition of two electric utility vehicles replacing two aging diesel vehicles, an electric scooter replacing an old, highly polluting “2-stroke” scooter and most recently d installation of a charging station for electric vehicles.
A first in the Cantal
Geolocated, it is located on the detour route of the RN 122 at the crossing of the village near the tourist office. This is the first fast charging station of this type (44 kW) in service in Cantal. Eight other similar fast-technology terminals should be installed in Murat, Salers, Pleaux, Saint-Cernin and four in Châtaigneraie to contribute to the mileage of the regional network. Note that the France Mobilité plan plans to equip 1,400 points served at charging stations, including 20 to be deployed in the Cantal department.

The financing of this transaction, amounting to € 33,443 excl. VAT, involved a stake of € 24,000 and a contribution of € 9,443 to the municipality’s equity.
