The luxury hotel basement of the Grand Bé suffered a major flood. An incident that could have plunged the whole area into the dark!
If the Eleanor storm caused damage in Saint-Malo , it has nothing to do, however, in the incident that hit the future hotel the Grand Bé, located at place des Frères-Lamennais, Intra-Muros, in the night of Wednesday 3rd to Thursday 4th January 2018.
This is the breakdown of an internal valve at 3am, which is the origin of the flooding of the basement of the 4-star hotel, which is scheduled to open next Wednesday.
More than 200 m2 were drowned under twenty feet of water!
An incident that could have had an impact perhaps more unfortunate, the authorities have, at this time, seriously considered, for safety reasons, to cut off electricity throughout the Intra-Muros area !
Everything is finally back to normal. The opening of the hotel, on Wednesday 10th January, was not questioned.
