A fire tore through an industrial poultry in Ergué-Gabéric, near Quimper

The fire broke out around 1.30pm in an 13,000m² industrial henhouse in Coray Avenue, in Ergué-Gabéric near Quimper (Finistere).

A thick plume of smoke rises in the east of Quimper. Around 1.30pm, a fire broke out in an industrial coop, Route Coray in Ergué-Gabéric (Finistère). This is the company Michel Leroux.


It is a building of 13 000 m² and five stories containing cages of laying hens. They were 63,000 chickens inside.



The offices and the transformer was not affected. The building is relatively new, dating from 2009.

Firefighters Edern, Trégourez, Concarneau, Pleyben, Bannalec, Fouesnant, Pont l’Abbé, Elliant, Quimper, came to lend a hand to their colleagues in Quimper (Finistère) . In all, 58 firefighters and 15 vehicles were mobilized. They are always there. At 14: 45 pm, the fire was finally controlled.
