Three hectares of fields went up in smoke on Saturday night in Plouasne, east of Cotes d’Armor. Sparks in an agricultural machine are causing the fire. Since Friday night, this is the third fire of this type in the department. Drought exacerbates the situation.
Three hectares of fields were burned, Saturday night at a place called Les Croix-Chemins in Plouasne, not far from the border with the department of Ille-et-Vilaine. This is a great summer classic: an agricultural machine set fire to straw. The field is ablaze, the farmer could not do anything.
Dozens of firefighters dark to prevent the fire spreading to the nearby woods. They intervened in time, from Dinan Irodouër (Ille-et-Vilaine), Médréac (Ille-et-Vilaine), Plouasne and Yvignac with three types of trucks suitable for “forest fire”, a van and a water carrier vehicle.
A few minutes later, it was in the town of Saint-Goueno, at a place called La Philippais, firefighters intervened. A round-bailer machine caught fire, the fire has spread only the fenceto the next field.
