Weather in Morbihan: Orange Alert for Strong Winds and Wave Submersion

WEATHER: Meteo France placed the Morbihan in orange alert for strong winds, from 9 pm till midday Friday …

The maximum gusts could reach 110 to 120 km/h on the coast or 130 km/h near exposed headlands. Inland, it will reach 90 to 100 km/h with peaks of up to 110 km/h.

There is also a significant risk of high waves and flooding. The risk period will begin on Friday at 6am until 11am for the hour of high tide is 8.56am in Lorient.

The department will be placed in yellow alert until at least 4pm on Friday. The greatest caution.

The prefecture  calls for vigilance of all during this episode meteorological and compliance with prudential guidelines: reduce travel and speed; do not walk in the forest or on the coast; in town, be alert to possible falling objects. Do not work on the roof, do not touch electrical wires which may have fallen to the ground.  Store or secure sensitive objects so that the effects of wind or any damage may be averted.
