Huge pileup on the A13: at least 65 Injured including 5 Serious

A major pileup occurred Monday morning on the A13, in Yvelines, at the exit of Epône.  At least 65 people were injured, five seriously. A major deployment of emergency personnel was deployed. The highway is cut off to Paris.

At least 65 people were injured, five seriously, in a pileup occurred early Monday on the A13, in Yvelines, according to the Prefecture.

The accident, which occurred around 5am in the provinces of Paris meaning on the A13 at the town of Epône involves “two non-school buses, a trailer and four light vehicles”, said the Prefecture.

 

 

5 people severely injured, 62 with other injuries

 


According to a toll released at 7.50am, five people are “seriously injured”, needing emergency attention and 62 with “other non life threatening injuries”,  while 12 people “involved” were not injured.

One hundred firefighters on site

A major deployment of emergency personnel was deployed, including around 100 firefighters.

A gymnasium was opened in Aubergenville to accommodate minor injuries.

Traffic suspended on the A13

The A13 was cut in the direction Paris-province and motorists are advised to avoid the area. As for those who are on the A13, they should take exit 10 Epône.


The circumstances of the accident remained to established this Monday morning.
